| Sleep Disorders Study |
|
You will be asked to complete a medical history and questionnaire prior to any testing. We encourage an individual's bed partner to assist in completing this questionnaire since they often provide valuable information in helping to identify symptoms. Individuals should bring their personal belongings such as bathrobe, bedroom slippers, pajamas, and toiletries. During the night, several sensors are used to monitor breathing patterns. A sleep technologist is present at all times to observe and provide care if necessary. The first night study determines if a sleep disorder is present. A second night may be spent in the lab if a disorder is detected. A mechanical device may be used to keep breathing passages open during sleep. Following the study, a sleep specialist physician will review the results and determine whether further testing is necessary. What To Expect After Your Sleep Study
