ADA Recognition

The Diabetes Center at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center has been awarded continued Recognition from the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Our program has been recognized since 1997.

Programs that achieve Recognition status have a staff of knowledgeable health professionals who provide state-of-the-art information about diabetes management.  

Mission

We provide quality comprehensive diabetes self-management education to adults, children and their families with diabetes.

Philosophy

We believe patients with diabetes have the right to be involved in the  management of their condition. To do this, the patient and their family must be provided with the necessary information. All patients with Type 1, Type 2 or Gestational Diabetes have the right to receive such instruction.

We believe that education is the key to empowering the person with diabetes to better manage their disease and avoid the complications of diabetes and achieve an optimum health status.

To improve the quality and longevity of the life of the patient with diabetes
To decrease the number of hospital admissions for diabetes-related complications
To provide a service to patients and their health care providers
