Advanced Burn Life Support Provider Course

Target Audience
Physicians, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists and paramedics

Purpose
The course provides guidelines in the assessment and management of the burn patient during the first 24 hours post injury. Following a series of lectures, case studies are presented for group discussions. You will be given the opportunity to work with a simulated burn patient to reinforce the assessment, stabilization and the American Burn Association transfer criteria to a Burn Center. Final testing consists of a written exam and a practical assessment return demonstration.

The purpose of Wound Care Boot Camp is to ensure RNs, LPNs, and Advanced Practice Nurses receive knowledge and skills related to the most recent advancements and knowledge in wound care to effectively care for patients with chronic non-healing wounds.

Orthopaedics - It's Not Just Broken Bones

Target Audience
Nurses, Advanced Practice Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists

Purpose
This program is designed to educate health care providers on various issues that impact the care delivered to the orthopaedic population. Emphasis will be on operative shoulder repairs, knee arthroscopy, and extremity flaps and grafts. This program will also address the challenges of fibromyalgia, venous thromboembolism prevention and bundled payments in caring for the orthopaedic patient.

Purpose
Each year 870,000 babies die through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. This conference is designed to educate health care professionals on issues related to perinatal loss and bereavement. The conference will guide participants in developing skills to support patients and their families through the grieving process.

Continuing Education for Emergency Medical Services
We offer free, continuing education classes to emergency responders. The classes are held in the lower level of Saint Elizabeth at 555 South 70th Street. Attendees will receive two hours of state-approved EMS credits.
