Cancer survivors are invited to attend our free art classes called Expressions of Art & Hope. We have partnered with LUX Center for the Arts to offer you the opportunity to explore a creative process of self-expression and reflection to help you meet the challenges of diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
Classes are held in the lower level of Saint Elizabeth from 6 - 8 p.m. and are taught by instructors from LUX Center for the Arts.

Monday, July 14, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Ceramic Tiles: Participants will learn how to create a clay slab which they will decorate using traditional clay techniques of carving, adding clay ornaments and glazing. Register online or call 402-219-7000.

Monday, August 11, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Paper Marbling and Journal Making: First, participants will practice the ancient art of suminagashi, or paper marbling. Then, they will create a hard-covered hand-made journal using the marbled paper as the cover.
Monday, September 8, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Fused Glass and Wrapped Rings: Layer colorful pieces of glass to create a sun-catcher, piece of jewelry or trivet. Participants will also make a wire wrapped ring.
Monday, October 13, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Watercolor Cards: Learn basic watercolor techniques and paint a card to send to a friend.
Monday, November 10, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Lino Block Printing: Carve an image into the easy-to-use lino block material and then make multiple prints. Participants will take both prints and block home. The lino block can be used over and over again.
Monday, December 8, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Embroidery: Create a personalized monogram on fabric while learning basic embroidery stiches.
