Transnasal Esophagoscopy is done using a flexible endoscope that also has a camera on the end of it. We will numb your throat and nose. The physician will insert the esophascope into your nose, and have you swallow the scope, which will allow it to travel down your throat. He will view your esophagus all the way down to your Pyloric sphincter, the opening into your stomach, to make sure acid reflux or other disease process have not damaged it.
