Nasal Polyps

 

They can grow in response to infection, allergy, locations of abnormal contact, asthma, cystic fibrosis or for unknown reasons.

When polyps are widespread, it is usually from some underlying mucosal abnormality. Symptoms include: Nasal obstruction, mouth breathing and the person with polyps sounds like they are congested with a cold all the time.

The treatment for nasal polyps may include steroids or antibiotics. Surgery also may be indicated in some cases.
