What to Expect

Following testing each patient will receive in-depth information that covers topics from avoidance of allergens to precautions to use against allergens. The information from your allergy testing will be reviewed by the ENT Nebraska physician who evaluated you for allergies. A decision will be made whether to proceed with immunotherapy (allergy injections) or to try another means of treatment. If immunotherapy is chosen, the following regime is:

  • 1st and 2nd year – injections are done weekly
  • 3rd and final year – injections are done every other week

After the initial 10-week “Build Up” process is completed, you will have the option to continue receiving the injections at ENT or begin a “Home Maintenance” program. If you decide to participate in the “Home Maintenance” program, ENT Nebraska will provide in-depth education regarding topics from what to do in the case of an emergency to how to dispose of your needles.
